Singapore's train system was disrupted last week when some claws providing power and support to the third rail detached. The company in charge, SMRT, acted swiftly to fix the problem, by securing the claws with zip ties. Obviously this raised some eyebrows and the company is now under investigation.
While half way trimming my hair the built-in battery got drained. I had a meeting in 1 hour and charging would had taken 3 - 4 hours. I decided to open it up only to find a NiMH AAA battery soldered on. I ripped it out, pulled the wires to the exterior. Wired up a standard AAA battery while keeping it in good contact with two of my fingers, while finishing up the job. Worked like a charm. Not a pretty sight through.
