The National Low Income Housing Commission paints a rather bleak picture of housing affordability in the United States. The state which requires the least amount of hours at minimum wage in order to afford housing is a tie between West Virginia and Arkansas at 63 hours. That's just over a week and a half of a 40-hour work week. Sorry kids, looks like that fancy dinner at Applebees will have to wait until next month.
I'm not getting paid enough! Where are the moths and dust bunnies that I'm supposed to put in my wallet?
Now if only we could do away with those pesky 40-hour-a-week rules... I know! If we got rid of minimum wage, I'd be able to work for less and my boss would give me more hours! #trollpolitics
