The FC Barcelona defender Dani Alves was preparing for a corner kick on Sunday's match when he noticed a banana tossed at him onto the pitch. Without missing a beat, Alves responds to the racist gesture excellently by picking it up and eating it.

"We have suffered [racism] in Spain for some time," Alves said after the game. "We aren't going to change things easily"

Friends, teammates, and fans responded to Alves' actions with pride in a similarly humorous fashion on Instagram and Twitter.

A writer named Ijeoma Oluo has shared an interesting Twitter conversation she had with a 14-year-old, racist troll on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and the result is truly inspiring.

"You guys I'm a mom," she wrote on Facebook. "You think I'm going to let some 14 year old outlast me? I got love for days."

Warning: there are a lot of racial slurs and other awful stuff in here, but make sure to read all the way through to the end.

Australian make-up artist, Takara Allen, has put one of her Tinder matches on BLAST this week for a text of a dude asking her to bleach her skin.

The 22-year-old said she was devastated by somebody telling her she should be whiter, especially a jerk who she had already been on one date with.

"I was so in shock that someone would ever send that to me that I actually started crying out of frustration. I've never had anyone suggest that I bleach my skin before."
