Naturally, by 'hottest' I meant comically absurd, hilarious, an unfortunate reflection of the times we live in. But I mean, hey, heal pain through laughter or something like that, right? Stephen Colbert would seem hellbent at keeping up with that memo.

What an unexpected, beautifully ridiculous situation:

via Beth Elderkin at io9:

Austin resident Noah Lee started going by the DJ name Muppetfucker in 1995, after he and a friend of his came up with it and thought it was funny. He used the name for six years, and owned several MuppetFucker domain names, including MuppetFucker.net. Lee told io9 the Jim Henson Company likely found out about Muppetfucker after he performed at SXSW in March 2001 and got a review in a local weekly magazine. A few days after the review came out, Lee got a cease-and-desist letter from the Jim Henson Company, which demanded he stop using the name Muppetfucker and hand over all domain rights.

“The day the letter showed up, I walked to my mailbox and opened it up, and when I pulled out that Kermit letterhead I knew right then it was over,” Lee told io9. “Many people said I should try and fight it or that I could pick something similar like ‘Puppetfucker,’ but let’s face it, nothing is funnier than Muppetfucker, as this latest round of people discovering the name proves.”

Annd here's that cease and desist letter, fifteen long years later...

"Where were you when you heard about Kermit and Miss Piggy?"

This will be the question we all ask ourselves when discussing the unforeseen and public break up that announced the two muppets decided to take a one way trip to Splitsville, Aug. 4.

In a shocking Facebook move, Miss Piggy laid out the whole of the reason the famous couple chose to call it quits, thus invalidating all the close relationships in your own personal life.

Now, we know what you're thinking. This could just be some publicity stunt for the sake of the upcoming Muppets show, for which Miss Piggy shamefully shills in her break up message. Maybe you're right and maybe love is not an impossible concept.

Twitter got cynical. If you can believe it.

It's just a rough day all around after hearing about Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale filing for divorce after 13 years of marriage. Of course, that is a little sadder since they were, you know, real people.
