Blunders, Goofs, Mistakes, Failures and Chaos

Every part of life brings with it the potential for mistakes, failures, errors and blunders. Is it always our fault? Maybe some proactivity on our part could keep our toilets unexploded and our cars free of snow, but at the same time, the world is unpredictable. No amount of caution will completely save us from failure and stolen underwear, as evidenced by semi-frequent Misfortune Mondays.

People's Best Guesses As To What Will Be Normal By 2031

There are definitely a few ways to take this whole "what do you think the future will be like" thing and honestly opinions are mixed. Maybe in ten years we'll all be eating cheap tasty lab-grown barbeque and driving electric cars to Call-Of-Duty night at the senior center. Or maybe we'll all have to move back into our parents houses because the tri-annual firestorms burned down our coffin-sized micro-studio apartments. Possibly a rise of cults? Maybe a mix of everything? If it's anything like most predictions of the future, all of these are probably completely wrong.

Aggressive Jerk Tries To Lowball For Laptop, Gets Nothing

For some reason the prospect of a deal brings out the absolute worst in people. And what's the deal with strangers claiming to be "the customer" as if this person selling their laptop is the customer service wing of Staples? What a mess. For more idiots trying to bully people for the sake of a deal, here's an unhinged lowballer having a meltdown and an entitled mom who tried to swindle the babysitter.

Unhinged Lowballer Has Meltdown, Brags About IQ, Stays Mad

It's unclear why someone would be so hostile to a complete stranger, but it seems like this guy got upset because he didn't know what an OLED tv was and instead of asking or googling it, he took the third, most exciting path. The path of hurling insults the way a frustrated stinking ape throws wet feces at things it doesn't understand. What is this guy on? For more, here's an entitled mom who tried to swindle a babysitter and a Karen bride who canceled their wedding, kept the money and vaporized all bridges.

The dual-mode AirCar made its first inter-airport flight in a historic and very cool sign of the times. It's unclear who would want or who could afford one of these things, but at least we're one step closer to the mythical "flying car" fantasy we've all had for decades. The AirCar, coming to collect dust in a billionaire's third home near you.

Spelling Fails That Beat The Meaning Out Of Words

Alright, fine. Linguistics majors who've taken their 100 level courses will tell you that language is an everchanging thing and that as long as someone has communicated something effectively, it counts as effective human communication. But they're not talking about the extremely dumb spelling fails that we all see every day. Calling a terrarium a "terrorism" isn't a profound shift in language as we know it, it's someone who didn't want to Google "thing my turtle lives in" and settled on the closest bowl of word salad that autocorrect wouldn't slide a red squiggly line under. Here are more spelling failures that really shift the bed.

Twitter Thread: Woman Returns Home, Finds Raccoon In Bedroom

Haily Lliff had quite the scare when she returned home from a trip to New York. As it turns out a raccoon had made of a bit of an entrance, and then just decided to post up for a while. While the event itself is surprising already, it's also pretty wild that a couple other folks were keen on sharing their own experiences with raccoons breaking into their homes.

Few of us wanted to live-out many of the scenes of Dumb and Dumber, but if Harry and Lloyd could make it to Aspen on this "hog," these guys thought they could to. Spines and mini-bikes weren't built for this. A few tire changes and a brake adjustment later and they made it to aspen on about 7 gallons of gas. It's surprisingly wholesome, especially since they didn't kill a man in a diner or give a blind kid a dead bird.

Misfortune Monday: Life Is Just Like This

No one should be surprised when something bad happens. Well, you're allowed to be shocked when your above-ground pool gets filled with scooters or your freshly baked lasagna explodes all over your car. But it's important to remember that misfortune happens and it goes on. It's life. Of course things are like this. As long as we accept that chaos is unavoidable we can at least be present and move forward. Still sucks though. Misfortune and mayhem is just part of the deal, and it's covered somewhat regularly on Misfortune Monday.

Morons Who Shouldn't Be Allowed To Drive

Sometimes people don't seem to understand that driving is a cooperative event. That means risky maneuvers like strapping a literal ton of garbage to the roof of your car or dangling a dryer out the back while pushing 70 down the freeway isn't exactly the best way to inspire confidence in the drivers around you. We get to see enough unsafe maneuvers at work, it just so happens people are compelled to do dumb crap on their commute too.

Proof Kids Are Dumb As Rocks And Weird As Heck

If you knew anyone who did even one thing an 8 year old does on a regular basis, you'd kick them out of your friend group instantly. A grown man who thirsts for bleach and poops his pants when he doesn't get mac and cheese? It's no wonder "childish" is an insult for adults. Kids are just weird and dumb people. We know, because we remember.

People's Weirdest Family Traits

There are a few ways to interpret the intriguing genetic diversity of human beings. One way is to look in awe at the limitless possibilities of our own twisting evolutionary path. The other way is to look in shame at our own genetic dead-end bodies, every day becoming more self-conscious about our weird nostrils and non-matching feet. But in the end, genetic variation is a good thing for survival and who knows, maybe the next great step in human evolution will be having a slightly longer big toe that helps us run away from the murder-bots or something. At least we can look at our grandparents for comparison like this tumblr user looks at their ageless matriarch.

Strangest And Scariest Things People Have Seen At Night

Nighttime has an uncanny knack for making a whole lot of everyday things seem exponentially creepier than if you'd simply seen them when it's light out. Our nerves can tend to be on edge when we're situated somewhere between the land of dreams and the waking state. With all of that being said, there's no getting around the fact that having a bear cruise up to your tent to press its nose up against your humble abode would be just a bit off-putting.

People describe the weirdest and creepiest things that they've ended up seeing in the middle of the night.

Perspective-Twisting Images of Doubletakery

Is that a toxic sludge spill or just a swan with its head in a pipe? Is that a yacht or a clothes iron? Is that a pyramid or an umbrella? Double take moments like these are a constant source of eye confusion and they'll never let up. There'll always be someone out there with their arm in just the right place to make it look like a butt. That's just the nature of skewed perspective.

Things That Are Way More Dangerous Than People Realize

Life is full of hazards and not every single one has a creepy warning sign to go with it. Even something as simple as a slug or a toothache is enough to put a person in the ground, and while it's unlikely to happen, it's important to know what we're all getting into on a daily basis. Stuff is just surprisingly dangerous, man.
