Impressive Creations of Dubious Taste

There's no denying that people are very creative as well as incredibly skilled at making such interesting things. That said, who really wants a toe bed? Maybe this stuff resonates with at least a few people out there, but on the whole, a toilet guitar isn't gonna be something that a lot of us want to buy. It's just a drop in the bucket of the many impressive creations of questionable taste.

For the love of practical effects and trick-cinematography, here's an ad for Pocari Sweat (a Gatorade-like Japanese sports drink) that has no actual computer generated images but sure-as-hell looks like it does. Yeah, it's an ad, but who cares man. If it takes Pocari Sweat money to make such an interesting and cool thing, then so be it.

What a strange and disorienting time to be alive. Technology and its rapid series of advancements just keeps surprising us. Never thought I'd be watching a monkey named Pager play MindPong with his Neuralink, but here we are.

Why anyone would go through the effort to re-engineer their 3D printer into a sandwich machine is beyond sense, until of course you see this baby in action. Obviously it would be faster, easier, cheaper and probably tastier to just make it by hand or just buy a sandwich, but then you wouldn't get to say you have a sandwich machine. In a sense, it's 3D printing a sandwich. Not actually, but definitely sort of!

Explosive hydroforming is the process of using an explosion to shape metal. The pressure from the explosion in each one of these tanks violently and pretty much instantly turns them into spheres. It's kind of like magic, and it's very fun to watch.

There are people in this world that are actual wizards when it comes to chopping up various foods. Take this dude for instance. His coconut cutting skills are nothing short of magical. He's clearly a master of his craft. I want to buy a coconut from him just to see him cut it up.

So, usually in metalworking, you'd shape stuff by with a punch or a press. At least that's what Wikipedia says. Wikipedia also says that  hydroforming is the process of shaping metal using water pressure. For materials that are too strong or large for traditional hydroforming, one option is explosive forming, sometimes called explosive hydroforming. That's where the pressure used to shape metal comes from, you guessed it, an explosion. This ends our remedial knowledge of the complex processes involved with metalworking. Just watch the thing go bang.

Just imagine for a terrible, daunting second that the internet wasn't a thing, and thus people would never have been able to discover this gem embedded in the heart of humanity. Seriously, what a situation we have going on here.

You probably didn't wake up thinking that you'd stumble upon a video of a dude absolutely crushing "Cliffs Of Dover" on an electric bassoon, but here we are. Sometimes the internet really churns up the gold when we least expect it. Turns out you can definitely shred on an electric bassoon.

A collection of mildly interesting images that definitely piqued our interest.

Here are two machines, both capable of balancing themselves using the power of reaction wheels. First, it's kind of amazing that people do this every day without even thinking about it. Second, it's really amazing that someone figured out how to engineer self-balancing machines out of a few motors and strategically placed wheels. For some funny engineering, here's a dude who kicked up his video game rumble several notches.

The Best Stuff People Found In The Garbage

"Value" is a very slippery concept, and what one person might choose to throw away could equally be seen as a major score for someone else. There are idiots throwing away guitars, TVs and jackets just because of a small fixable issue, and it's the sworn duty of the rest of us, the shameless garbage sifters, to pluck that ripe fruit-o-the-trash. Ironically it's often the stuff that people try to sell that's the real garbage, like this weird and dumb stuff people tried selling online. For a glimpse at the kind of people throwing nice stuff away, here are some of the most expensive things people witnessed.

interesting and valuable things people found in the trash | Handwriting - Duck-Yo-Couch 2 days ago Once I found a perfectly good stationary bike that my neighbors threw out that I cleaned up then used for years. Can't believe this day comes only 52 times a year.

Joan Mir pulled off nothing short of a miracle recovery after wiping out real hard on their bike. This is some superhuman level madness.

Many of us have had our experiences with playing around with Hot Wheels cars when we were growing up. It's a video like this, where you get to see some awesome Hot Wheels cars drifting around that can really bring on the tidal wave of nostalgia.
