If you have spent any time on this site, you'd well know that DIY attempts can go very, very wrong. But hey, at least we have some statistics and only 40% of men are doomed to complete fixing failure.

The study of 2,000 men found most lack the ability to carry out tasks such as tiling walls, fitting a carpet or changing taps. Even unblocking a sink or toilet leaves 49 per cent completely stumped. Chris Burke, of tradesmen recommendation service RatedPeople.com, said: 'Those who assume most men can turn their hand to basic tasks such as drilling a few holes to fit a curtain rail are wrong.

Deviant Artist Midnight Angel put together an arm blade stylized after the ones used in the Assassin's Creed video game series. Using a drawer opening mechanism, a spring for a screen door, and a throwing knife, the weapon works surprisingly smoothly.
