This is what the internet is made for.
People seem to have an aversion to proofreading, and that can lead to a lot of really not good signs and designs. Whether it's a sign attempt that reads as accidentally filthy and sinister, or just a bootleg toy that makes no damn sense, we live in a world with design failures that need some help.
We've all been woo'd by a good commercial at some point in our lives. Especially when you're a kid, Nerf really makes it look like having a sweet blaster will make you the coolest kid on the street. We've all gone crazy at some point for those ads for laser tag games and frozen drink makers, and many of us never learn and keep making stupid purchases far into our adult years. That said, this isn't always our fault, sometimes products are straight up misleading and manipulative.
There are two things that make us wish we could go back in time, straight to the 90s. The first one is the general annoyance of adult life and all the complete BS you have to deal with in the working world. The second is sweet, sweet 90s nostalgia. And an added third I guess would be that we could bet on Super Bowl winners.
Man, remember the old days? Having to wait a whole week for a new episode of your favorite show. Having to rewind a movie after finishing it. Paying money for music. Wait, why did we even like the old days? Huge inconveniences aside, everyone pines for a simpler time that will never happen again. We've got the memories though. For the older folks here's some 70s and 80s nostalgia. And for those who want to live their best 90s life, we've got 90s life hacks.
Did you know there were slinky tricks? Neither did we. Apparently this guy is pretty good at them. I mean, if it's your job to stand at a booth that sells slinkies all day, you probably get good at slinkies. The camera can hardly even catch this skill, my god.
Time again to chase that nostalgia dragon's tail. Sometimes 90s nostalgia gets so much press that people overlook the older days, when toys were made of hard plastic, metal, and weren't fun. No matter who you are, you've probably had some experience with these relics of a time you'll never see again.
When this cat owner won a stuffed animal toy in a raffle at work, they thought it'd be a good idea to bring home the toy to their cat. The big catch here is that the toy looked identical to the cat, which resulted in the cat freaking out. It's just like if you've ever seen a cat catch their reflection in the mirror, and how they lose it; but even more terrifying with a plushy stuff animal that looks like them.
Twitter user @Adamhill1212 started a thread on the most painful toys you can accidentally step on. The resulting tweets hit on all the painful reminders, with the key theme being LEGOs! Seriously, screw those sneaky bastards. The bottoms of my feet started crying out in pain just thinking about the old days of walking around and suddenly feeling like I got stabbed with a rock in the bottom of my foot.
If you experienced childhood somewhere around the turn of the century, then quite a few of of these pictures might hit you right in the memory nads. Remember back when you had to drive to a store to rent videos? Wild. If you want more '90s nostalgia, then check these out.
We're not exactly experts in child rearing, but this story about a mom who refuses to use negative language around her kid kinda set off some alarms. Like, isn't replacing one word with another one kind of defeat the purpose of not having the first word? There is octopus way this strategy worked out. Check out some awesome twitter jokes about parenting here.
