There are cliffs, falling rocks, and every manner of potential electrocution. If not for these creepy signs that make their message clear, we'd be having that much harder a time. While terrifying signs are first and foremost helpful things, that doesn't mean they're not real spooky.

Terrifying Signs That Had Good Reasons To Be Scary

They say what you don't know can't hurt you, but that line of logic doesn't work when it comes to exposed wires, sinkholes, hidden explosive ordinance, and bears. Also poison ivy, quicksand, riptides, monkeys and poison gas. Oh yeah, plus geese, shooting ranges and nuclear runoff. But that's close to all of it. Maybe. Either way these creepy signs made their message clear.

Creepy and Imposing Signs That Aren't Messing Around

They say what you don't know can't hurt you. The "they" in that phrase seems not to have ever heard about dangerous heavy equipment, poisonous trees, and looming monkey attacks. These creepy signs make their message clear about what's coming for whom, and that's probably a good thing. Even though these terrifying signs speak the language of fear, they're still trying to tell us something, and that's better than nothing.

Frightening Signs That Mean Serious Business

With the many threats in this world, we thankfully have ominous signs to go with them. While it's extremely frightening to see a sign that says "falling snakes" or "invisible poison gas area" or "molten lead splatter zone" it's still better that we have the warning in the first place. With all the varied and creative threats to dodge, it's no question why we have all these creepy signs that make their message clear.

Creepy Signs That Make Their Message Clear

The world is full of unforeseen hazards, and we can thank creepy sign makers for clueing the rest of us in on all the junk we could step into. Spooky signs say a lot with their creepiness and sometimes the sign itself is scarier than the danger. That said most of us would prefer not to fall into a radioactive mine shaft so we can thank these spooky signs even if they're too dang scary.

Ominous Signs That Mean Serious Business

Hazards abound, and with them creepy signs that make their message clear. Sure it might seem gauche for a sign to literally tell you "lions eat people and you are people" but the real issue is why that sign needs to be there in the first place. Someone was probably being people way too close to the lions. The abundant threats of the world make it necessary to have spooky signs that are too dang scary.

Terrifying Signs that Speak the Language of Fear

Put simply, there are a lot of things out there that can kill you, such as electricity, fires, electricity fires, strong currents, loose animals, and accidentally wandering into firing ranges. Even a big hole can be ridiculously dangerous if it's deceptively placed. It's better that we have spooky signs to remind us that, while we're basically at the top of the food chain, we aren't invincible. The signs can get pretty creepy though.
