This Twitter thread from @calebsaysthings captures that unforgettable, teeth-grinding frustration that many tenants have had with trying to navigate apartment problems with landlords that are terrible communicators. It's just the worst.
We've been out of school for a little bit so maybe things haven't changed much, but damn teachers used to get away with saying some absolutely wild stuff. Some were great, most were fine, but some could be wrong and dumb or just awkward bullies. Sometimes bad teachers got their comeuppance, like this strict teacher who told a student not to speak and it totally backfired. Kids can be weird too, like in these weird and stupid school stories.
It makes sense that some things are difficult. Like, becoming a doctor or a navy seal are things that are about as difficult as they should be. But why is it so hard to install a printer? It's just a printer! Some of these seem like small problems but we all know that there's extremely petty stuff that people get very passionate about.
It's not every day that you get to use your boss's rules against them. There's something so wonderfully satisfying about when an unfair employer has to face their own music. Not every organization gets to feel the sting of their own unfairness. This job applicant got to call out a company's dumb interview process.
Life just loves to be difficult. If things are running smoothly it's only a matter of time before a new obstacle, an unwanted curveball presents itself. If you're currently navigating a frustrating life situation, these particularly sucky moments might help ease your pain by observing other people's unfortunate fails.
He doesn't know that you need a license, that you need to get up early, or that there are different kinds of fish. Dude doesn't even how the boat is stored and he want to just go and take it. And to top it all off the reason he needs the truck is because he messed up his own car. You can't ignore the boldness of entitled people and their frustrating demands.
After a request like this, it would be pretty hard not to send someone a photo of your bare ass and directions on where to kiss it, but this person kept things classy. It's still extremely hard to have any sympathy for the kind of person who thinks they deserve a discount in exchange for literally a penny's worth of water, but that's entitled goofs for you.
Everyone wants nice things. That part makes sense. It's the way that people go about trying to get them that can cause some tension. Sometimes people will reject free cars and jewelry, demand free stuff from strangers, and get extremely mean when they don't get it. And every time it happens, it's a spectacle to behold. It's hard to get inside the head of entitled folks and their frustrating demands.
It's no secret that people tend to take things too personally. A statement about your own favorite TV show will be interpreted as an attack on their favorite TV show. An attempt to pass someone on the freeway can turn into an impromptu drag race. Here are some incredibly minor and absurd things people tend to react to as if they've been slapped in the face. There's just some petty stuff that that people are extremely passionate about.
Someone on AskReddit got a thread going about the various minor nuisances that are worse than wet socks. Now, topping the remarkably infuriating occurrence that is dealing with wet socks, is no small feat. But this thread certainly has some suitable rivals. You know, things like trying to fall asleep at night while one of your nostrils insists on whistling, whenever you breathe. Or, getting the sanitary towel stuck to you when you use a public restroom. No fun, no fun at all.
Someone on AskReddit got a thread going about the biggest lies that people heard about college. As it turns out, sometimes college isn't as tough and completely soul-grinding as it's made out to be. Or, on the flip side, folks share that it's not necessary to go to college to avoid finding oneself in an unwanted life situation. In fact, so many are out there crushing it with no college background. It ultimately comes down to what one wants to do. No telling what the final outcome will be.
Passive aggressiveness is the worst. People just bottle up all that aggression and frustration, instead of letting it out in some healthy conversational discourse, and instead go about "avoiding the conflict" by creating tense and uncomfortable environments. These particular cases of passive aggression might just bring your blood to a boil. The passive aggressive roommate scenarios, especially.
Everyone has a memory from their childhood that made them first realize that adults are at worst full of hate and at best, full of shit. There are blatant cases of favoritism, obvious lies, and straight up unfair policies. Sometimes students rebelled against unfair school rules, but typically you just had to roll with it.
If you've ever worked in retail, been in the service industry, or have walked down the street, you've probably witnessed an infuriating time someone went full Karen. Someone displaying Karen behavior will act entitled, demand to see the manager, lie and scream to get what they want, however trivial it may be. Sometimes it doesn't work, like this time Tech Support called Karen's bluff and deleted her website or this time Karen lied about an eviction and lost in court.
If you're like anyone else, it's hard to escape garbage moments made possible by shortsighted people who aren't thinking with everyone's best interest in mind. There are crook landlords, people stealing crap, and some massive disrespect just floating around the world. This trashiness belongs on Garbage Island.
