Customer Demands Refund For Their Own Mistake, Call Center Maliciously Complies

Our hearts go out to anyone who has to muddle through shifts at a call center. It seems like call centers are magnets for the world's most insufferable, painfully entitled individuals. It's as if the people that contact call centers with whatever complaints they have on tap, also manage to completely forget how to carry themselves like decent human beings. Seriously, there's no excuse. Fortunately, this call center was able to play right into the customer's demands in a way that resulted in glorious malicious compliance. If this post got you going, then definitely check out this post about a customer who demanded a plain omelette, and was then furious that it was just plain eggs.

Customer demands refund for their own mistake from call center, call center maliciously complies.

Angry Customer Doesn't Realize That It's April

Hey man, these are strange times. Time itself seems to be kicking along at the strangest pace. It could be a result of the dystopian world we all found ourselves muddling through about a year ago. With that being said, it doesn't hurt to check that calendar before bombarding a call center with a fiery complaint that absolutely could've been avoided in the first place.

An angry customer doesn't realize that it's actually April.

Belligerent Customer Asks For Manager, Sweet Malicious Compliance Ensues

Our hearts truly go out to anyone who is working a customer service job, and has to deal with an onslaught of ferociously entitled, wildly irrational customers who just want to out their rage on whoever exists on the other end of the phone line. In this case though, the call center employee was fortunately able to clap back against the belligerent customer by giving them exactly what they asked for, which resulted in a whole lot of time being wasted. For another satisfying tale of malicious compliance check out this story about a sweeper who was being given grief by a couple rude dudes, and then decided to send them on a totally unnecessary, lengthy journey to use the bathroom

A belligerent customer asks for the highest ranking call center employee, and then malicious compliance ensues.

Call centers sound like they can be quite the soul sucking kind of establishment to work at. You regularly deal with irrational and unwarrantedly enraged customers that just refuse to recognize that there is in fact a human being on the other end of the call. And then you throw into the mix a company like the one we have in this story of malicious compliance...yikes, indeed. We're just grateful that this particular story has a happy ending for the poor employee that had to deal with a company trying to screw them over.

Customer Keeps Asking for Man, Ends Up In Legal Department

This customer with absolutely no chill couldn't be bothered to be helped by any woman in the company. Eventually he got his wish, but it was far from helpful. For more customer stories, here's one where a boss reality checks awful customers and one where a Karen was defeated with overwhelming kindness.

Customer Demands a 500 MB plan Instead of Existing 16 GB Plan

On one hand, having to call customer service, especially for a telecommunications company, can be a time wasting slog. On the other hand, some customers just call customer service for an opportunity to scream at someone. In this case, this woman would rather scream and demand a 500 MB plan rather than actually listen, so things didn't exactly end in her favor.

Woman calls a call center and demands a 500 MB plan because she thinks it is bigger than 16 GB and she gets it.
