'We can't and won't help you': Front desk clerk refuses to help entitled hotel guest after he complained that his car got blocked while parking in a management-reserved spot

Why is it so hard for people to just read a sign and follow what it says? I agree, some signs can be really confusing. I once spent 15 minutes in front of a frustratingly unclear sign that was supposed to tell me whether or not I could park my car in that spot. Eventually, after consulting with some passersby, I decided it was not worth the potential parking ticket, and continued to look for a different parking spot for another 15 minutes. Even so, if there is a sign that says “Private Parking”…

'I would duct tape them to the bottom of her desk': Coworker keeps stealing bananas, employee claps back by hiding rotting ones under her desk

We have seen plenty of stories about what happens when coworkers steal food, but this would be the first time where the revenge involves rotting bananas taped under a desk. But if you ask the Redditor who posted this online to the almighty r/pettyrevenge subreddit, he would say it was the most logical way to get back at this thieving coworker. Believe me, if I had the chutzpah to pull this off, I would because I have been a part of many toxic work environments in which the communal refrigerator…

'CONGRATULATIONS! You mowed': Top Mildly Infuriating Neighbors

Some people in this world have nothing better to do than spy on their neighbors, gossip about them, and start pointless conflicts with them. Whatever happened to leaving one another alone? Ah, who am I kidding? I love the gossip part, but I would never go so far as to buy a camera to spy on someone or to report them every time they grilled food. That's just creepy and/or annoying. Get a life, people! That being said, there is some satisfaction that comes with reading about these neighbor wars.…

'[Karen] demanded I give the cookie voucher to her': Entitled Mom and son try and fail to crash kid's birthday party, demanding free stuff

It takes a whole lot of audacity and nerve to crash a kid's birthday party just so you can get some free vouchers. However, I suppose if you are truly committed to leaning into all the facets of your personality that might make you a Karen, you don't have room for second-guessing. After all, all the space in your brain is taken up by your Karen attributes. Personally speaking, I have never possessed the confidence to be able to crash a birthday party. Instead of this Karen's audacity, I cannot…

'We take care of those who take care of us': Local bar loses half its clientele after doorman confiscates Navy Seal's military ID while refusing him entry

I have had the privilege of getting to know soldiers over the years, and when I say that their bond is unbreakable, I mean that they will stop at nothing to ensure that the people they love are taken care of. Whether they like it or not, they are now a family, and families stick together through good times and bad. There are many stories, like the one below, about troops sticking together. However, the story below is of an active-duty trooper who was denied entry into a local bar shortly after…

work workplace workers worker employee former ex boss manager supervisor managers ceo job business company wage minimum-wage antiwork reddit

‘I doubled my income leaving’: Guy calls out his ex-employer for offering poverty wages to new hires after complaining that ‘nobody wants to work anymore’

It's no secret that minimum wage has been nearly the same for decades, except all of our expenses are getting exponentially higher. Back in the 80's a mom could buy a haul of groceries to feed a family of 4 for a week for $20 and now, couples with only a cat to care for are spending 10x that amount just for basics at Trader Joe's. Hmm… Where did we go wrong here?

'18K gone in less than 30 seconds': 20 workers share the biggest mistakes they've made on the job

We all make mistakes, but these employees made errors so egregious that it nearly cost them their jobs. In fact, in some cases, these workers were straight-up fired. In other situations, they managed to maintain employment regardless of whether or not that was deserved. This thread was compiled from the following r/AskReddit thread, and while fully grown individuals made some of these mistakes, I cannot help but think about my interning days when reading these wild stories. The number of times…

‘I don’t really like committing to labels’: 30 dating red flags people wish they noticed when they were younger

Does anyone else wish you could sit down your younger self and talk some sense into yourself about your unfortunate dating taste? I certainly do, and if you have no regrets, congratulations. You’re a unicorn individual. The rest of us will be sulking in the corner cringing at our prior mistakes and hoping to never run into ~certain~ people ever again. Everyone says it takes experience to know your habits (both good and bad) in dating and relationships, but if I could sit myself down and say, “D…

‘Feeling happily petty’: Guy gets even with his messy coworker by ruining his rubber band collection

It’s one thing to be messy in your own space; it’s quite another to allow your messiness to affect your coworkers. That’s the kind of petty annoyance that can make someone’s workplace environment all the more toxic. Not only is your coworker forced to come into the office and share a desk with you, but now they are subjected to your total and utter lack of organization skills? Grow up and learn to clean after yourself! Of course, dear reader, I do not mean you . I’m talking about this Redditor’…

'You're going to fire him or I walk': Top salesman gets a worrisome trainee fired on his first day after the guy reveals he's a creepy degenerate

First impressions are important in the workplace. If you come off as a quirky weirdo on your first day, it's a tough trope to live down, but innocent awkwardness is to be expected. But sometimes coworkers can sense when someone is more than just a little 'quirky'. In fact, for some new hires, it's pretty clear right off the bat that you're never going to get along… fundamentally. Especially if that dicey, new hire acts like a total creep from the moment they first shake your hand.

'I'm never touching your truck again': Neighborly ritual goes wrong, leading to resident's refusal to assist his neighbor after a snowstorm

Keeping a cordial relationship with your neighbors is vital. It's the kind of connection where I scratch your back and you scratch mine. You don't have to be best buddies who hang out 24/7, but at the very least, you should be considerate of them. The story below is an account of a frustrated and petty neighbor. This man is one of the nicest people I've ever heard of, so don't let his current status fool you. I would stop at nothing to have him as a neighbor. It was a wintry, stormy night when…

‘I should get a bump in pay too’: Worker asks for 20% raise, boss says to get another offer he can match, worker maliciously complies

This manager has no business arguing with his employee; he asked for it. After the employee discovered that the new hire would be getting paid 20% more than their current salary for doing the same job, the employee sat their manager down for a talk. This thread was posted to Reddit’s r/MaliciousCompliance subreddit by u/inertzero . Let’s just say that the initial conversation about getting the same raise did not necessarily go as planned. OP figured things would go in their favor given the fact…

'He can hike back to town for all I care': Employee abandons manager on side of road and refuses to drive back to work

Workplace bullies are the worst for an obscene amount of reasons. The first is that you couldn't leave even if you wanted to because you came here to work, not to have fun. So either you give in to the bully or lose it and end up losing your job. The story that follows is about an emerging adult who is entering the workforce for the very first time. Unfortunately, OP had to deal with the worst workplace bully I have ever heard of. Nevertheless, as fate would have it, OP saw his chance and seize…

‘Does he just want us all to quit?’: Boss enforces mandatory two-hour stand-up meeting at 8:00 am every day, worker rebels

Talk about starting 2024 on the wrong foot! It feels like there are a million ways for a horrible boss to anger and frustrate their employees, but even those of us here at FAIL Blog understand that sometimes there is no other choice and hard decisions have to be made. That being said, choosing to enforce mandatory meetings two hours early every single day where everyone has to stand does not feel like a decision that needed to be made. This thread was posted to Reddit by u/Classic-Dog8399 , who…
