When it comes down to explaining why you were late, it's almost more important to just have an interesting story than a realistic one.

Whether they were trying to keep the classroom bearable through being hilariously unpredictable, or just plain weird, you've gotta give it to them. They definitely tried...in some capacity. 

Here are some relatable stories that'll make you go "man, that's bullshit." Also, it turns out there are still a lot of people who are really not over things that happened to them as children.

This might bring back memories of the time in 2nd grade when you had to miss recess because Dylan falsely accused you of calling him a butt.

It's true though. Dylan was a butt. Still is.

School sucks. The sad part is that it doesn't have to be miserable, and bad teachers are what make it so frustrating.

To be fair to previous generations, they did have to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow.
