This probably seems like the furthest thing from anything you're worried about right now. But hey, look at that, you can make a rooster fall asleep by drawing a line in front of its face.

Tumblr Drops Intriguing Knowledge on Ancient Female Pharaoh

Apparently by trying to erase the long and successful reign of this pharaoh, using her stuff as wall filler and throwing all her junk in a dump, they accidentally ended up preserving it. Pretty neat. Tumblr reviews some wild corners of history, like this thread that actually makes history fun. Here's another archaeology themed Tumblr thread about craftspeople being able to identify things that archaeologists couldn't.

When the Carolina Hurricanes found that they were in need of an emergency goalie, the 42-year-old Zamboni driver David Ayres stepped in to make 8 saves and help the team beat the Maple Leafs.

The video doesn't offer much explanation as to why these guys are detonating anything at the end of this pipe, but holy crap. The sound and speed is reminiscent of a jet breaking the sound barrier. Surprisingly, the op says that only basic earplugs are required for protection against this monster.

This bar code reader is connected to a a speaker rather than a cash register, and scanning different bar codes generates different sounds. It sounds like it makes good impromptu techno. Pretty cool.

Just a coyote waiting for his badger friend to enter a culvert to cross under a highway. Apparently these guys has have been known for a little while and pop up from time to time. It really makes you wonder how well they understand each other.

Hungry Trees that Enveloped Stuff

Trees and plants have the incredible ability to keep trying even when the odds are stacked against them. It's really all they can do. Take these unstoppable plants who won't take no for an answer. Here are some trees that munched on the stuff around them, which turned out to be a whole lot of bikes and abandoned weapons.

Rare Moments and Unlikely Events That Go Against The Odds

These unlikely moments vary in their likelihood as well as their severity. Sure, a guy amazingly surviving an explosion and a picture of four dogs all taking a dump at the same time are on different levels completely, but you can't say they're not both rare. There's just something so cool-feeling about unlikely moments that go against all odds.

Apparently the guy's name is Juan Carlos. He's a roller blading dancer, a Houston legend, and he does weddings.

Guy Gets Intense Love Wisdom from Number Neighbor

In a recent trend, people have been sending random texts to their Number Neighbors, i.e. the stranger whose phone number is one digit higher or lower their their own. Mostly it's just people going "who is this don't talk to me" but other people are chill. Here's a guy who got waaaay deeper than you'd expect to get with a stranger. Unrelated, we're huge fans of that first typo right at the top.

It amazes and scares us whenever we see a video of someone this young crushing it on the drums. Maren Alford is a young musician who already has more musical skill than most of us can hope to have. So here's her cover off the recent Slipknot album. So anyway, if you wanted to feel bad about your own life prospects, then check this out.

Kinda reminds us of how we felt when we saw this overqualified drummer who's clearly at the wrong gig.

Wow is this a great ad for english muffins and backhoes. After this semi truck driver got stuck attempting a U-Turn across some railroad tracks, a bunch of random dudes showed up to see what was going on. With knowledge of a train coming, someone came in with a backhoe to help this truck driver get unstuck. Meanwhile, the camera guy just keeps calling this truck driver a dumbass. The real man of the hour here is whoever's driving that backhoe.

27 Double-Take-Worthy Images of Strange Perspective

The human eye is a pretty incredible thing. It manages to detect incredible amounts of information and send them to your brain where it all gets organized into something that makes sense to you. That said, your eyes aren't doing a perfect job. They will confuse you from time to time, and this confusion will result in real-life optical illusions. All of a sudden you'll think you're looking at a giant woman, a floating head, or a goat walking on two legs. Like these.

Dude Makes Bread from 4,500 Year Old Yeast Sample

Amateur Gastroegyptologist Seamus Blackley came across what he very much hopes are isolated strains of yeast off a few 4,500 year old Egyptian pots and figured it would be a good idea to make some bread out of it. He even went as far to make the dough out of grain used around the time the yeast would have been active, since what we know as modern wheat didn't exist at the time. Anyway, he baked a loaf and was able to taste some (hopefully) authentic ancient bread.
