Before it was converted, the St. Louis City Museum was a shoe factory. Pairs of kicks would get tossed down this massive slide during production and distribution. Would you be brave enough to ride it yourself?

This "sculpture" in Duisburg, Germany is designed to like a roller coaster. The catch: It's meant to be walked on. Designed by Heike Mutter und Ulrich Genth, the sculpture's 260 foot heights give passengers plenty to look at, though they have to marvel at the idea of the speed of the coaster at a more sane walker's pace.
