Toddlers Recreate This Years Oscar Nominees

The Tumblr blog Don't Call Me Oscar is run by photographer Maggie Storino. These adorable recreations of the Best Picture nominees are not just cute, they can tell the future. Storino told Mashable, "A little known fact about 'Don't Call Me Oscar' is that it's a good predictor of the Oscar winner; since we've been on Tumblr, the photo with the most notes has won Best Picture 3 out of 4 years."

The Hubble Space Telescope took this image of a star that looks like it's inside a blue bubble. NASA says the blue bubble is actually a nebula formed around 20,000 years ago. This is how it's described on the Hubble's website:

The distinctive blue bubble appearing to encircle WR 31a is a Wolf–Rayet nebula — an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen, helium and other gases. Created when speedy stellar winds interact with the outer layers of hydrogen ejected by Wolf–Rayet stars, these nebulae are frequently ring-shaped or spherical.

According to NASA, these type of stars don't last very long (in terms of bodies in space at least). It'll only be around for a "few hundred thousand years".

This woman posted a photo gallery of her story on Imgur which led to a diagnosis of a genetic disease that affects connective tissues called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). She explains the backstory in the description of the follow up picture post:

Five months ago, I posted "The Story Of A Broken Dancer." In this post, I told the story of how all I've ever wanted was to be a professional dancer, but that countless injuries and unexplained medical issues were coming in between me and my dream. Well, after posting this, hundreds of Imgurians commented on the post and messaged me saying I should look at different conditions or diseases they thought I had, but one that I received overwhelmingly was "Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Hyper Mobility Type III." I looked into it and decided it was worth a shot to get the testing done, and as of this morning, I have been officially confirmed to have EDS.

This picture was taken at Horsetail Fall in Yosemite National Park. Apparently this happens every year but it's hard to catch a picture at just the right moment. Photographer Sangeeta Dey explained this on a post about her own picture on Facebook:

Every year for two weeks in February, the sun sets at a certain angle and illuminates the waterfall in luminescent orange and red, making it look like a fluid fire. I’ve met photographers who said that they have been coming for 11 years only to see this happen 2 or 3 times.

This athletic pup is named Ludivine, and according to her owner, she's prone to escaping and taking long strolls around town.  This time she happened to wander into the start line of the Elkmont Half-Marathon in Alabama.

Attendees, including Tim Horvath who ran most of the race with Ludivine, told Runner's World that she ran the whole race from start to finish.

Although she did make a few pit stops that included meeting another dog and sniffing countless yards and streams, she still managed to finish seventh in the race.

Volunteers were so surprised that she ran the whole race they gave her an honorary medal for her seventh place spot.

Yes, these are real and yes, that is a giant floating eggplant that you can ride on.

Sure, you'd be stupid to bring your phone into the pool with you but that doesn't mean you have to go without expressing yourself exclusively through pictures. Just take these giant emoji pool toys with you.

Now you can spend your entire weekend floating on a giant poop. What a time to be alive.
