The study of 2,000 men found most lack the ability to carry out tasks such as tiling walls, fitting a carpet or changing taps. Even unblocking a sink or toilet leaves 49 per cent completely stumped. Chris Burke, of tradesmen recommendation service RatedPeople.com, said: 'Those who assume most men can turn their hand to basic tasks such as drilling a few holes to fit a curtain rail are wrong.
