Someone on AskReddit asked for people that joined the military to share their regrets. These are pretty rough.
Looks like this Master Sergeant got what he deserved. There's something too sweet about a military revenge. It could be the fact that these particular revenges incorporate a nice dose of malicious compliance. For some more military revenge gold check out this Staff Sergeant that micromanaged the logistics department getting a reality check in the best way.
Back in the old days, some governments threw a few amphetamines into their soldiers' supply kits. This guy might be one of the reasons why they don't do that anymore. Here are some more historical moments that sound too ridiculous to be true as well as a Tumblr thread about history that's actually fun.
Man, oh, man, we love a good old military revenge. They usually possess just the right amount of malicious compliance. This micromanaging staff sergeant learned a painful lesson in the value of leaving the logistics to the logistics department. Just picturing these trucks rolling up to their very incorrect location, which happened to be a vast and empty desert is really the icing on the cake.
Man oh man, sometimes the brain takes a lunch break, and a true fail presents itself. Take for instance, this soldier who microwaved a can of Chef Boyardee (with the lid on), on an active military base. Naturally, the resulting mess created a nice eruption of chaos, given the environment.
Maybe what we're calling weird is absolutely normal for a lot of folks in the military. The mind is apt to find some funny and absurd ways to keep itself entertained, while out in the middle of nowhere. With all the gear around, the resulting situations one can get into are quite ridiculous.
Anyone who's been to a horrible stand-up show can attest that it's something like cruel and unusual punishment. Granted his audience wasn't in a situation that would be too conducive for laughter, this guy got one of the worst reviews an amateur comic can receive. For an amazing navy story, here's a lazy naval officer who displayed an act of pure genius.
Correction and clarification here, he didn't go on a killing rampage or really terrorize the soviets, but our boy did do the rest of that shit. According to Wikipedia, Aimo Koivunen found it too difficult to undo one tablet with his gloves, so he just took them all. Bad idea. The resulting few weeks are inadvisable for any human being to put themselves through. And while none of this is advisable or good, it is really damn interesting. Tumblr has a way of making history fun.
