Woman Takes In 97 Stray Dogs To Protect Them From Hurricane

Chella Phillips, a resident of the Bahamas, manager of a dog refuge, and self-advertised "crazy dog lady" has taken in nearly a hundred stray dogs in order to protect them from the looming Hurricane Dorian. It's staggering seeing so many dogs in one place, and it's obvious the situation is a complex one, but with the alternative being leaving the dogs out in the storm to fend for themselves, this is a pretty impressive undertaking. In the lighter world of taking in stray animals, we've got a craigslist fail here of a sorely mistaken animal lover who thinks they've adopted a stray cat.

We're assuming the fire department got all the people out before they started setting up ladders to help the raccoons escape. We have a soft spot for the world's trash pandas. Even if they spread disease and knock over your garbage cans, it's nice to see them not die in a fire.

Apparently this can happen when someone is being rescued by helicopter? This 74 year old woman is said to be in stable condition. Seriously, this is terrifying. This is like the kind of crap they make you do in astronaut training.

If We Had to Describe the 2016 Presidential Election in One Photo, We'd Choose This One

A bald eagle got caught in the grille of a car over the weekend and we can't help but empathize with the poor creature. It just seems like the perfect metaphor for our country right now, doesn't it? But don't worry, the bird was rescued, and that kinda gives us hope for the rest of America.
