This is an example of how a small slip of the touch screen can have big consequences in the meme-verse. You know that feeling though, it feels a lot like the continent of South America.
When we heard that Ryan Reynolds would be the voice of Detective Pikachu in the live-action Pokémon movie we never knew the world needed, we were at a loss for words. Was it some sick joke perpetuated by Ryan Reynolds and the Twitterverse to get our hopes up only to bring them crashing on down at the end? General rationality and reason would suggest such a thing.
BUT no, not this time. We now have the first trailer for Detective Pikachu, and it is pleasantly absurd. I mean, I'm not so sure I'll be able to get over Reynolds and his iconic snarky voice as Pikachu, but rest assured that I will damn well try. Just enjoy the trailer for what it is: you get the experience of eating a magical edible with Pikachu and Ryan Reynolds in the room with you, without actually eating the edible. A free trip, if you will, so buckle up and enjoy the ride.
It was announced late yesterday that Ryan Reynolds would star in the upcoming live-action "Detective Pikachu" movie and the internet has no idea how to react to the news.
Fans had been pushing for Danny Devito to voice the lovable mouse since the movie was announced, but we're firmly in the camp that Pikachu shouldn't be talking at all.
Seriously, somebody get Ash Ketchum a skateboard. The era of the running shoes has come and gone...
Everyone meet Mimicyu, the ghost type pokémon that so desperately just wants to fit in with Pikachu.
