'No real man wants to disappoint their mom': Manager lets a 22 year old employee rush home during his shift to hide contraband from his mommy in a wholesome act of understanding

Nobody wants to disappoint their parents– especially their mothers. In fact, it was ingrained deep into our psyche at an early age that when our parents got mad at us, that was sort of okay, but if they were disappointed in our rebellious behavior, there was no greater pain on Earth. Obviously as we all grew up and moved out of the house, we became accustomed to our own illicit activities, but mom doesn't need to know what we do with our spare time or what vices we hide under our pillows.

'[He] wants my 1963 Fender': Musician refuses to give her $3,000 vintage guitar to her teenaged stepson; stands her ground even when accosted by family

Kids don't understand the value of things. It may sound old school, but the only way to really know what something is worth, is to work really hard to acquire it. And just like we learned when watching Antiques Roadshow at 2AM, when it comes to vintage, classic, or collector's valuables, there's more than just the monetary value to something– that lazy-eyed clown doll may seem worthless, but to the clown collecting bag lady, it's priceless.

'I have no choice': Single parent pressured to bring kid into work this Christmas because daycare is closed, Scrooge boss rejects her PTO request

We're nowhere near the Holidays, and yet we already have employers being awful about time off on Christmas. Here, we have a single parent who works as a dietary aide at a medical facility. We trust her when she says this is not exactly an environment she is comfortable bringing her kid to work in on any day, especially Christmas. When she recently learned that the daycare where she sends her kid would be closed on Christmas, and she realized she had no other alternative but to request time off,…

'All she does is pitch fits': Karen Mom calls the cops on her 5-year-old daughter for crying, officer arrests Karen

Just because you don't know how to parent doesn't mean you can just dial 9-1-1 on your five-year-old! Seriously, what was this impatient Karen thinking when she thought the best way to discipline her child for stomping around the room was to call the police five times and have them deal with it? News flash: all five-year-olds have the occasional behavioral fit, and if you really need a second pair of hands, consider working with her teachers or a professional. Otherwise, you're wasting time and…

'Your daughter was baiting seagulls into the playground with gummy worms': 25+ Times kids were completely hilarious without even trying

Kids are so funny , it's no wonder they're keeping their parents in stitches. Kids just do and say lots of wild things. They're new here, they're still learning, and they don't often have a filter. Therefore, they're often hilarious, just saying and doing things that adults wouldn't dare to utter. These people shared their funniest stories from the children around them, from their own kids, to siblings, to grandkids . Other shared stories from their own childhoods. I think stories involving tod…

'This is not the woman I want to marry': Single father has a life-changing wakeup call after spending $300 on gear for his athletic daughter, then getting reprimanded by his freeloading fiancé for failing to get her kids 'gifts' too

Family norms in the last 50+ years have been shaken up quite a bit. The classic ‘nuclear family'– with a stay at home mom that cooks and cleans, while dad goes off to his 9-5 job– used to be a norm, but nowadays, family structures look a little different. Most people would agree that the only thing that's remained the same in family relationships is that each parent is expected to contribute SOMETHING, whether it's financial or otherwise. But some people still cling to the old ways...

'Foolish, FOOLISH man': Husband complains his wife should have dinner ready because she does nothing all day, she maliciously complies and refuses to clean anything

You would think most of us would know at this point that being the primary “breadwinner” in a family does not mean you are entitled to make a fuss when dinner is not on the table upon your return home from work. It's 2023, people! We should have more realistic expectations of all parties in a family dynamic, and therefore, we should have equal respect for the financial and emotional contributions that all parties make. Unfortunately, these kinds of expectations do not gradually fizzle from one…

'Say goodbye to [your] college fund': Teenager deliberately disobeys her father, stealing $10,000 for a vacation; dad revokes her college fund

Parents with the means and foresight to set aside some money for their kiddo's education deserve a gold star in parenting. Although college funds almost never go as planned, the idea of a bank account full of cash that's devoted to your child's future well-being is a novel concept. However, entitled children who don't really know the meaning of their parent's sacrifices tend to look at their college account like it's a vault full of happy hour drinks and flashy festival outfits.

‘I won’t buy you a house... that's ridiculous': Unemployed neighbor asks former resident to buy him a house, because he can't afford one

One dude took ‘neighborly kindness’ too far when he wrote a bunch of letters asking neighbors to donate him a house and sent them off, obviously unaware (on a core level) how outrageous his request was. One neighbor, u/SirHoneyDip, shared the letter to r/EntitledPeople, and the content of the letter was frankly, hilariously entitled. Some people really don't have much going on up there, do they? Asking people for favors is one thing, but asking people to buy you a WHOLE HOUSE? While being unemp…

'I am turning into my mother and it terrifies me': 20+ signs that you've become your parents

There's a moment in everyone's adult lives when you realize that you have started to take on your parents' mannerisms for better or for worse. These mannerisms could range from the way in which you like to organize your kitchen cabinet to the phrases you use when you're frustrated at your partner (or even worse, your own kids). Of course, it's inevitable that we are going to take on the attributes of the people that surround us especially when we're young, no matter how hard we try to avoid it.…

Love doesn't follow the same timeline as life. We think we know what we're doing with our lives, following a career path, making plans, and taking strides– then BOOM, love hits you like a runaway truck. For some, making plans around their love life is more important than anything else and even romantic cynics can agree that we can't stop a determined loverboy on a mission.

We all know someone in our lives who made a questionable choice when naming their child. Recent developments in “mass content” social media have resulted in this strange divergence in the population. On one hand, there are those who share everything online and post every little detail of their day as if they're living their life on a stage. On the other hand, is the rest of the population who are horrified at the very thought of sharing a single image of themselves, let alone videos with entire monologues about intimate details of their lives. Now, you're free to live your own life…
