Twitter Thread: How Rattata Could Theoretically Beat Goku

Yeah, this is basically stupid, but hey, it's important to never apologize for the dumb stuff you're into. Everyone has their stupid. For the ones who played the Pokémon games while watching old episodes of Dragon Ball Z, this means something, alright? We all know that Pokémon's probability system is madness, but assuming Goku isn't holding a quick claw or something that lets him sneak in a senzu bean, this looks like it holds up.

Hold on, does quick claw provide enough of a stat buff to override the priority of quick attack? Whatever.

But hold on, would Goku's instant transmission be fast enough to end the fight before it even began?

Either way, there's no argument that Rattata could beat Yamcha with no strategy.

Tumblr User Expounds Tolkien's Wonderful Nerdery

Tumblr users apparently have a lot of time on their hands, and they use it for amusingly specific and labor intensive thoughts like the relationship between elves eyes and the curvature of middle earth, or discussing the full versions of classic sayings. We're glad people get so into stuff, like this Tumblr thread that makes history fun.

Tumblr user explains how Tolkein used his extensive knowledge of linguistics to make details in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit | mirkwoodest One ballsiest things Tolkien ever did write 473k words about some hobbits called frodo, sam, merry, and pippin and then write appendices their names are actually maura, ban, kali, and razal, mirkwoodest

Tumblr User Does The Math On Forging Literal Blood Sword

Man, it's unexpected threads like this that really spotlight just how lovably weird the world of Tumblr can get. We have some buds who end up quite literally running the numbers on what it'd actually take to craft a blood sword, cause why not? What else are you going to do with your free time?

Things People are Ashamed to Be Fans Of

When a fandom gets too big, it can develop its own set of weird rules and become toxic. All of a sudden you have people who all like the same thing judging each other over certain parts of that thing they like. Sometimes the fandom itself is obnoxious to people who are minding their own business, making it even harder to associate yourself with that thing you like. For a more fun look into fandom, here's a tumblr thread on how Darth Vader is the queen of drama.

Things people are fans of but are ashamed of | WreckNRepeat 13.6k points 1 day ago 1984 s probably my favorite book, but never met another person whose favorite book is 1984 who wasn't completely insufferable.

Tumblr Thread: Raging Nerds And An Orangutan

One does not simply bring up the Orangutan at an Edgar Allen Poe conference, unless they are ready to brandish their sharpest mental swords, and to debate, breathlessly, until there is steam coming out of their ears, and fire in the pit of their hearts. Yes, the Orangutan has a bit of a reputation in the community of Edgar Allen Poe academics. Saying "Orangutan" at a Poe conference is basically equivalent to muttering "Voldemort" at Hogwarts. Tis a big no-no. If you're looking for more wild Tumblr threads, check out the recent thread where Tumblr went full mythological scientist on dragon evolutions. Fun stuff.

Tumblr thread addresses why you don't bring orangutan up at Edgar Allen Poe literature debates | winchysteria have told this story yet? idk but 's good Orangutan Story: my american lit professor went this poe conference. like be clear this is man who has doctorate being book nerd. he reads moby dick his four-year-old son. and poe is one cornerstones american literature, right, so this should be right up his alley? wrong. apparently poe scholars are like, advanced. there is branch edgar allen poe
