Tumblr Uncovers the Legend of The Fastest Manhole Cover Ever

This story is about a particular event that took place during the nuclear testing of Operation Plumbbob. Officially, the steel plate that popped off was never seen from again, but the calculations point to there being enough energy in that metal cap to escape the earth's atmosphere, and it's been an urban legend/mystery ever since. Tumblr finds some interesting and fun history stuff, like the first soldier to take way too many military grade amphetamines.

You don't need to be a doctor, nurse or midwife to know where babies come from. That said, some people are way too old, and in some cases have too many kids, to not know the most basic information. How are people so bad at this. It's okay when kids ask hilarious questions in sex-ed because they're just learning, but this is too far. People have strange relationships with their doctors, going as far to deny really WTF stuff.

Guy Confronts Son's Teacher For Teaching "Blue Blood" Myth

You remember learning that the reason veins can appear blue is cause deoxygenated blood turns blue? Well that's total horseshit. Your blood doesn't turn blue, and the reason your veins might look that way is because blue and red light travel though skin with different levels of success, so what's reflected back is a more bluish color. If you just learned this, you may be intrigued by these people who learned basic stuff way too late. Anyway, this dad asked if he was wrong for being really persistent with a teacher teaching the wrong thing.

Teacher teaches false information about blood being blue, so dad confronts him.

Funny Tumblr Thread Explains Disney's Mythical Secret Porn Vault

According to this thread, Disney's strict policy that grants them exclusive ownership of any of their employees artwork also gives them the rights to any of the filth that those artists also end up creating as well. We hope Disney has a smut vault/porn cave, but it seems unlikely whether or not they would officially confirm the existence of such a thing. Tumblr has come through with some weird cartoon lore, like this dark thread on Garfield. Tumblr users also share some pretty incredible experiences, like this pizza deliverer who made a list of all the insane people she met.

Since we've all likely heard about the 10 percent rule, it's a cool dream to think that there's some inner-superhero inside us just waiting to be released. Unfortunately, the idea that humans only use 10 percent of their brains is as much a piece of fiction as Lucy's new abilities to control time and space.

"... the brain, like all our other organs, has been shaped by natural selection," Barry L. Beyerstein of the Brain Behavior Laboratory at Simon Fraser University told Scientific American. "Brain tissue is metabolically expensive both to grow and to run, and it strains credulity to think that evolution would have permitted squandering of resources on a scale necessary to build and maintain such a massively underutilized organ. Moreover, doubts are fueled by ample evidence from clinical neurology. Losing far less than 90 percent of the brain to accident or disease has catastrophic consequences."

After some 60 years of sex research, science-type people are unable to definitively locate a "G-spot." (did you know it's named after a dead German gynecologist? think about THAT during your next sexy times) They're not saying that any and all stimulation is all mental or faked though (except for your girlfriend, OHHHH BURRRRRN). Rather, pleasurable sensation comes from several different structures converging, and there's not a special, particular erogenous gland tucked away in there. I'm sure the test subjects were very happy to assist with studying orgasms.

It's mythical because it's HUGE, right? Like Bigfoot? And not because it's fictional and doesn't exist... RIGHT?
