Today Kanye or Ye or whatever his new name is, sat down with President Trump to chat. For the sake retaining some sliver of sanity while writing this (and feeling like it's out of a dystopian fictional reality), we're not going to go into further details. The biggest takeaway the world had from the whole debacle was Ye's passcode.
Apple's new iPhone XS which retails at a nice and hefty $999 AND their XS Max (a measly $1,099) have been reported for allegedly glamorizing people's selfies with auto touchups. Is Apple trying to further instill unrealistic beauty standards, through incognito photoshopping; or is this the latest upgrade people get for shoveling obscene amounts of money into the latest iPhone? Who's to say. All I know is we've got what's been coined as the #Beautygate scandal on our hands, and people have feelings about it.
If it seems like your iPhone's been slowing down over time that's cause it quite literally has, by design. Yes, in a statement released by Apple on Thursday, they confirmed that updates have been programmed to render iPhones slower than they once were. Let's just say the skeptics of the world were not stoked to have their suspicions confirmed, in regards to their iPhones being slowed down intentionally. Yet, Apple claims this is a strategically-motivated, preservation tactic to protect the internal components of your iPhone.

A lot of people don't know this, but iPhone batteries can kind of explode. You know who didn't know this, this dude who was working at one of those We Can Fix Your iPhone stores. He was playing around with a dinged up phone, and POOF, black smoke everywhere.
In the description for the video, the guy breaks down what happened:
"A customer came into the store with screen damaged iPhone 6+ for repair. The customer wanted repair of broken screen and complained of Apple genuine battery not holding charge. We removed the customer's Otterbox and prepared to book the phone in. Then, the customer picked up phone and applied a regular amount of pressure to the screen, the same as any normal person would do everyday during regular use. The battery failed and exploded. Initial force of the explosion caused the screen to come off the phone. Our staff extinguished the phone with a fire extinguisher. We had to evacuate the store due to fumes and could not open for the rest of the day. Draw your own conclusions, but imagine if this happened five minutes earlier when the guy was driving to the shop and not in the shop."
Yeah, imagine if that guy had taken it out of the case and poked around the battery while driving. Let this be a lesson, just bring it to Genius Bar or don't drop your phone.

Remember last year, when the great cellphone war went up in smoke as Samsung phones started blowing up all the time. Well, now, I guess you're dumbass Android-using friend can be all shitty about their phone again because this iPhone blew up too.
Apparently, Brianna bought the phone, and while she suspected it didn't look right, she took it home anyway, assuming that because it wasn't a Samsung phone, there's no chance that it could blow up. However, she was wrong. Dead wrong. Her boyfriend caught the phone smoking and squealing the very next monring, so he dumped it in the bathroom, the only falme retartant room in the house, for safekeeping.So my IPhone 7 plus blew up this morning 🤗 was not even using it, literally no explanation for this pic.twitter.com/sQ8CJt4Y69

But we live in a post-iPhone blow up reality, where we have to put up with convsations like that, and there's very little we can do about it. Even the Genius bar can't save you because this phone blew up.
What a time to be alive: impressively helpful woman finds a lost and homeless iPhone in a cab, proceeds to glean all private deals - whereabouts (address/where car is parked) - from an all too voluntary snitch of a Siri. For real though. Shoutout to Siri for not failing to dispel some intimate details to a total stranger. Imagine if this little live-tweeted tale took a turn down horror movie lane...just saying, suggesting really, that there are certain people out there that you do not want knowing where you live.

Meet the Titan cable, an iPhone cable that can't be destroyed because it has a very thick, metal casing. We'll see about that.
The fine folk over at The Verge took the Titan cable's can't be destroyed claims a little too seriously. While Titan probably meant, like, the end of the cable won't fray or wear out, the Verge decided to see how it held up to a samurai sword.
The results, as you probably guessed, don't favor the cable.

The iPhone’s multi-touch display is one of the phone’s greatest innovations. But wouldn’t you know it, Steve Jobs and the team almost went in a different, stupider direction.
The iPhone almost had a click wheel like the iPod. But it wasn't a physical click wheel, it was a digital one. The video above from Apple leaker Sonny Dickson shows the click wheel from “Acorn OS,” which Mashable describes as, “an iPod-based interface for the iPhone that Apple was working on before deciding to go with the now-ubiquitous icon-based interface.”
Apparently, Apple had two teams working on the iPhone’s operating system, one that was led by Tony Fadell, the “father of the iPod,” and other by Scott Forstall, who was the Vice President of iOS software before leaving because everyone hated Maps. Fadell was working on this click wheel version based on the success of the iPod.
Obviously, “turning it into to a rotary phones from the 60s,” as Fadell puts it, wasn’t the way to go.
