We're not sure what compels someone to strap on some skates and bomb downhill in an all out slippery race to break their own tailbones, but it sure is thrilling to watch. Here's a compilation of falls, fails, and action from the scary-looking, action-packed sport of competitive downhill ice skating.
In the opening ceremony of the 2016 US Synchronized Skating Championships, ice skaters Dean Copely and Tim McKernan dressed up as Chazz Michael Michaels and Jimmy MacElroy, two characters from the movie "Blades of Glory". They performed a version of the film's 'Fire and Ice' routine.
