Dads always have some kind of problem with the neighbors. Perhaps the innate dadness of living in a neighborhood and showing your dadly dominance over the other dads, but at some point, there's a natural progression from friendly competition into neighborly rivalry.

You reap what you sow, and when you cherry-pick rules, don't be surprised if those disproportionately affected by them dig up some dirt and lead you down the garden path… This gardening uncle became the target of his HOA for violating their 'no fences' regulation after his Karen neighbor reported him for the small half-foot high picket fence that he placed around his garden. Talk about a scorched earth policy. There's no greater satisfaction than sharing the spoils of a garden or fruit-bearing tree… but reaching your hands through someone else's fence in the dead of night (or when you've carefully watched to make sure they're not home) is just downright dirty—and not in an “I've just been gardening” sort of way. Given this guy has no penchant for gardening, this may not be the case here.

There's nothing like planting mint and attracting bees to get some much-needed petty revenge on your Karen neighbor!
