'She demanded I hire her': Manager's old company calls begging him to hire his useless ex-coworker to get her off their hands

Imagine having a coworker so terrible that when you get a new management role and poach the members of your old team, your old HR manager actually gets mad at you for not poaching the awful one. That's a scenario that boggles the mind so completely it's hard to imagine this scenario actually playing out in real life. Yet, that's exactly what his manager reported experiencing in a story that they shared on Reddit. In their account of events, they tell how—a few months after leaving their old job…

'We always parked at least one of our cars in front of her house': Karen calls cops on neighbor for parking in their driveway, they park in front of her house instead

Be careful what you wish for… because you might get exactly what you wanted—even if it's not specifically what you had pictured. There's something about depositing our two-ton chunk of steel in a specific location that brings out the most primal traits in us, prompting territorial feuds between neighbors that inevitably escalate to ridiculous levels. Even if we technically have no ownership over that specific location, it still triggers feral rage when another monkey deposits their two-ton chun…

'I smiled and waited for Joe to clock in': Customer wants a male employee help her, so department manager agrees

'I smiled and waited for Joe to clock in': Demanding customer insists a male employee help her, cue malicious compliance by department manager

One manager didn't bother telling a demanding customer she was wrong… she found out eventually all by herself. Customer service workers deserve to make at least $15 million per year, and if I was President, I would make it happen. These jobs are some of the lowest paid, and all the while you have to work with customers who don't really want your help, they just want to complain. The longer you work in customer service , the more you realize that you don't have to put in that much effort. Smile,…

'He has a massive superiority complex': Nepo baby faces off with entitled repairman

When you work for your parents, you get some fantastic perks. This person, u/roktol, knows that very well. This person isn't just your average nepo baby, but instead they're pretty knowledgable in their industry, thanks to help from their pa. 'You should fire her!': Karen screams at cashier, attacks manager, gets arrested

There's nothing more satisfying than a story about an entitled person getting their just deserts. This Reddit user, u/SimMinnie, shared their story of exactly this to Reddit's r/EntitledPeople subreddit community. This one certainly ticks all the boxes. u/SimMinnie explains that the story took place when they were working as a supermarket cashier. Which, like any customer service position, puts you straight in the firing line of an entitled Karen. They go on to explain that things could get ext…

'I admit I was a touch rude': Dude lashes out at dog owners after a simple inquisitive sniff

The proper etiquette and managing of your pooch in a public place is a tricky subject. Far too many dog owners let their dogs roam—recklessly leaving their dogs free to approach strange humans and unknown dogs without a second thought. Now, I know your dog is probably lovely, your prized little nugget of fluffy joy—but the chances of it lashing out at a stranger are not zero. To make matters worse, every dog owner in existence will give you the “He/she is friendly!” line—whether it's true or no…

'I had to "apologize"... through gritted teeth': Passenger confronts woman playing loud music on her phone while on an airplane

Genuine question for those who play music out loud in public places : why do you do it? Whenever I see people walking around blasting music on their phones , I usually assume they don't have headphones. From my personal experience, I know how easy it is to break, lose, or forget your headphones, leaving you without audio entertainment for a day. How annoying! Maybe that person blasting music on the train works several jobs and doesn't have a lot of personal time to enjoy music in their own home…

'We're sorry for any disappointment': Dude's Twitter thread sparks online debate around popular Southwest Airlines "wheelchair scam"

Who wants to be sitting on an airline for longer than they have to? Well—due to Southwest's unique seating arrangement, where no seats are assigned, and all seats are first-come-first-serve, the less honest among us are hugely incentivized to vie for priority boarding without having to fork out extra for it. The way people do this is by asking for a wheelchair before they arrive at their gate, which qualifies them for priority boarding from the airline. This frustrated passenger hit out against…

'She demanded I hire her, but I refused': HR tries to dump a slacker employee on a hard-working manager; they get denied even after they try to pull the 'single mother' card

Slacker people like to hide behind their perceived shortcomings in order to validate their lack of work ethic. The biggest problem with that is that they are immediately discrediting other hard working folks in the same situation, while making themselves a pity case for everyone around them. In this story, one slacker employee found refuge in her workplace by playing the ‘single mother' card, using the same excuse for every one of her deficiencies as an employee and a coworker.
