A simple writing prompt can inspire some seriously intriguing stories, like this story about lies taking the shape of scars or this Tumblr story about aliens being fought off by wildlife. Any novel premise can give way to a short story that gets surprisingly intriguing, gut-wrenching or just plain wild.

Someone on AskReddit asked for people to describe the various things that they do when they're stressed out or annoyed. Whether it's stepping outside to grab some fresh air right before you shout a storm of curse words into the sky, or maybe something more chill, like diving into your favorite video game; we all have our preferred coping mechanism. 

Life is full of moments and feelings that we seem to have trouble explaining in one word. Luckily, someone has come up with one. For example, if you've ever been lost in a big loud anecdoche and all of a sudden you're overcome with rubatosis, you might find yourself having a jouska.

Happiness can take on a different form for everyone, with occasional intersections. Maybe you'll find yourself smiling without realizing it, when you read one of these. To think that a blind person smiles without ever knowing what that looks like to begin with, and then further break down why they're smiling, and what that emotion might be related to, is a trip. Is it a smile out of happiness, anger, fear, sadness? Who's to say.
