People want to look good. Nay, people must look good. 

But in his age of Instagram and Snapchat, looking good isn't enough. You must risk your life for beauty, whether that be a selfie while driving or a quick mirror shot of you holding the pin to a hand grenade. 

One model said, the best way to get a good Instagram shot is to dangle off a 1,000-foot-tall building in Dubai. The model in question, Odintsova held an assistant's hand as she threw caution to the wind and leaned into 2013's tallest building. I would trust any assistant over a safety harness any day. Do it for the likes.

Just watching this might make your palms sweat.

A bunch of thrill seekers in Dubai recently leapt 1300 feet off the Princess Tower, which is known as the world’s second tallest residential-only building (next to 432 Park Avenue in New York).

The stunt dubbed “Dream Jump Dubai” was a collaboration between SkydiveDubai, XDubai and a Polish company called Dream World which has created a mechanism that allows you to “experience freefall without deploying a parachute.”

The DreamJump system uses multiple zip lines and a harness, and it lets you drop for a longer amount of time than you can with just a bungee cord.

“Bungee is just one rope. This has two, so it is safer and more comfortable,” the creator, Thomas Zielinski, told The National. “If you use bungee, the experience can be like giving birth. This is more like eating an ice cream.”

Only ice cream doesn’t come with the risk of ending up on the ground flattened like a pancake.

There were also about 558 terrifying base jumps off the platform over the course of 6 days.

Talk about a bird’s eye view.

Darshan the white-tailed eagle made history on Saturday breaking the world record for the highest bird flight off a man-made structure.

A group called the Freedom Conservation strapped a Sony ActionCam Mini him and captured his 2,722-foot descent off the Burj Khalifa in Dubai to help raise awareness about the endangered species.

The charity works in partnership with both SOS (Save our Species) and UNESCO, and the stunt was also broadcast live on BBC News.

“I’m really proud of the bird,” his trainer, Jacques-Olivier Travers told Khaleej Times. “Today was really perfect. I really think that anyone who saw these shots will never think of eagles again in the same way.”

This wasn’t the first time Darshan has soared off a tall building. He’s also flown from the Eiffel Tower in Paris and St Paul’s Cathedral in London.

The Burj Khalifa in Dubai is the tallest building in the world, and it also puts on one of the biggest firework displays for New Year's Eve.

This year they broke a world record for "largest LED-illuminated facade" with 70,000 LED panels wrapped around the tower, according to The Arabian Gazette.

On New Year's Eve last year, the city broke the record for biggest pyrotechnics display in the world with around 500,000 fireworks.

Yep, the Dubai police force has a Lamborghini Aventador in their arsenal. How effective this might be in law enforcement, nobody knows. It does make for some sweet-looking police chases, however.
