People's motivation to create things is sometimes stronger than their drive to make something tasteful of even useful. At heart, that's a good thing. But in practice, things can get weird. It usually goes one of two ways. For the problem solving pragmatist, there are low budget DIY solutions. And for the misguided artists, there are impressive creations of dubious taste.

Life hands us all sorts of technical challenges, and it's up to us to solve them with our own ingenuity. Sometimes that ingenuity leads us to using a defunct school bus as a bridge, and other times it leads us to gluing a fan to the ceiling. A lot of these low budget fixes and DIY solutions are bad, unsafe and extremely unadvisable, so take that with a heaping pile of salt.

However, if it doesn't work and is illegal, it might be stupid. Here are some sweet DIY solutions for better or for worse. Almost any problem can be solved on a budget if you don't care if it looks nice, works well or is safe. Human beings are masters at getting things done, and that results in a lot of "it's not stupid if it works" moments.

I guess if packing peanuts are a thing, then packing popcorn isn't too far off. Modern problems require modern solutions, and these folks improvised like the best of em. Some better than others. It's gonna be harder to dunk when those trees keep growing...
