This feels like one of those things that should have gotten more coverage when it happened. During a parade for Spain's National Day in 2019, the parachutist tasked with bringing the flag to be used in the parade got yanked out of the sky by an errant light pole. Amazingly the guy didn't get laughed at. Maybe the whole event was just "too official" for anyone to really lay into him in front of the King? Apparently he suffered no injuries. The only Spain king he got was the king of Spain telling him it was chill.

Here we see two iterations of Elias Garcia Martinez' Ecce Homo: the original painted nearly 100 years ago in the Sanctuary of Mercy Church near Zaragoza, Spain, and the pitifully botched restoration done over the original by some random yo they hired because she had an art degree from Frank's College of Knowledge.

Zaragoza city councilor Juan Maria Ojeda had this to say about the situation:

"I think she had good intentions. Next week she will meet with a repairer and explain what kind of materials she used. If we can't fix it, we will probably cover the wall with a photo of the painting."

Freakin' amateurs, man.

Well, we've all had a good laugh at the American uniforms for the 2012 Olympics, but Spain has their own ideas in dressing their athletes. Best of luck on the runway guys, even if you don't need it on the field!
