Instagram Privacy Hoax Inspires Twitter Roasts, Savage Memes

The Internet Gods have spoken: we have been overdue for another stupid social media privacy hoax. This time around, boomers and the technologically ignorant are concerned about their already non-existent privacy on image-sharing site Instagram. The post claims that deleted photos and messages will be made public unless the "memo" is shared. The message is laughable, but the masses are pretty damn gullible where privacy is concerned. To make matters worse, celebrities and politicians such as Rick Perry (The US Secretary of Energy...) and Usher have been sharing the bogus spam as well. Instagram and Twitter users with a bit more of their wits about them have been using this opportunity to roast their share-happy peers via memes and exasperated tweets - and the results are pretty fricken' funny.

This is a picture of an Easter Simnel cake, a cake that sounds delicious and is very common in the UK around this time of year. They usually look about like this one but Instagram found it just too risque and suspended the account of the woman who posted it.

Her daughter brought this to wider attention on social media after Instagram refused to restore the account saying that, "We understand that people have different ideas about what’s okay to share on Instagram, but to keep Instagram safe, we require everyone to follow our guidelines." according to Mashable

Fortunately, Instagram decided to take a second look into the matter and, presumably when an actual human laid eyes on the cake for the first time in this process, they restored the account.

Is This Woman a Slapstick Comedy Genius or the Queen of Bringing Real Pranks Back to the Internet?

Paige Ginn loves to get a good reaction out of strangers. Ginn's falls are all real, and she has the scraps and bruises to prove it.

Is she a slapstick comedy genius like Chevy Chase? Or is she just bringing real pranks (looking at you 'Social Experiments' and paid actor pranks) back to the internet?
