Here’s yet another reason to join the cord-cutting revolution.

A man in Spokane, Washington was surprised to find out that Comcast had changed his name from Ricardo Brown to “a**hole” Brown on his most recent bill.

He and his wife Lisa had been trying to cancel their cable subscription with the company, which should have been a very simple process.

But it was not.

They first reported the issue to consumer advocate Christopher Elliott, who wrote:

Instead of complying immediately, a representative escalated her call to a retention specialist, who tried to persuade her to keep the cable service and sign a new two-year contract.

His wife said she was not being rude, but the Comcast customer service agent decided to get back at them for not taking the offer in the most passive aggressive and childish way possible.

Elliot spoke with a Comcast rep who eventually apologized.

“We have spoken with our customer and apologized for this completely unacceptable and inappropriate name change,” he said. “We have zero tolerance for this type of disrespectful behavior and are conducting a thorough investigation to determine what happened. We are working with our customer to make this right and will take appropriate steps to prevent this from happening again.”

The company also promised to fire the employee responsible and has offered to both waive the $60 cable cancellation fee (how generous) and provide a refund of their two years of cable service.

Kudos to this stylist for managing to keep a calm demeanor in the face of an entitled Karen. Karen even tries to swing low with that lame threat at the end. Seriously, these kinds of people are the worst.

Rude Customer Doesn't Realize He's Returning Collector's Item

Even after having the distinction explained to him, this dude just wasn't having it. It's one of those rare times when "the customer's always right" doesn't exactly benefit the customer. But he got what he wanted, so that's fine. It's like the time this customer ordered exactly a pound of wings and got less wings.

Anyone who has ever worked a customer service gig has likely encountered that one customer who just refuses to be a reasonable human being. When you encounter such an emboldened individual it's really up to you to give them the reality check they're not asking for, for free. This crew certainly delivered.

Karen Racks Up $16K Phone Bill, Rejects Help From Call Center

All we're missing in this story about a Karen racking up a disgusting $16K cell phone bill while on vacation in some remote island, is a picture of what Karen's face looked like when she learned she was only being given $25 in credit toward the bill. Mind you, this is $25 in credit compared to the thousands ($14K) she was previously offered by a tremendously helpful call center employee. But no, Karen got unbelievably greedy (if not fraudulent), and rejected the kindness being shown to her. Suffice to say, she certainly paid the price.

Man's Effective and Idiotic Loophole Enrages Burger Guy

In this world of strict corporate policy, we sometimes find ourselves in absurd situations asking "the pickles are right there, the onions are right there, why can't I have one with pickles and onions" only to be met with a stone-faced representative saying "I'm sorry but that's impossible and I will be fired If I do that." Of course no one wants to be a Karen customer,  so we are left to use our brains to develop really stupid loopholes.

Tumblr Thread: Aggressive Generosity Combats Boomer Selfishness

It's quick little tales like this that manage to temporarily restore our faith in humanity. This dude did not have to intervene when the Karen in front of them was making the Dairy Queen employee's shift all the more unpleasant, but they did. Oh yes, they did, and they did so when it came at zero benefit to them. That's the selfless kindness that the world needs. Plus, picturing Karen's face when she continued to witness someone else actively offsetting her toxic antics.

A Tumblr post about a customer counteracting angry Karen with kindness | unclefather cashier: l'm sorry 's going be 5 minute wait food old people: let speak manager. This never would have happened my day. And yet all want minimum wage raised going kill cashier sorry 's going be 5 minute wait food

The Weirdest Things Drive-Thru Employees Saw

Cars are a strange semi-private space, and they give people an extra sense of security to be weird. That makes it harder to work a drive-thru job where you spend all day leering into people's cars. Some customers are even looking to freak employees out, which has gotta make work a little rough. For more customer service stuff, here are weird things Walmart employees witnessed and some totally mindless things said by credit card customers.

Woman Calls Out Café Owners For Shady Practices

There's nothing that quite grinds one's gears like reading about a maniacal business manager who misplaced their moral compass and decided that they'd try to take advantage of hard working employees that don't know any better. It's some of the scummiest behavior that human beings can end up subjecting other people to, especially in the service industry. The woman in this AITA story asked folks whether or not she was in the wrong for alerting her old coworkers to why she quit the gig. People seem to be in agreement that what she did was nothing but righteous.

Complaints That Made Customer Service Workers Snap

It's as if some people are truly born into this world with no shame. Take the guy who continually pestered the waitress about having an under-poured beer, was proven wrong, and then still had the shameless audacity to demand a refund from there. It takes a certain kind of nasty person to go out of their way to make someone working customer service detest their job more than they already (likely) do.

Customer service workers describe the complaints that made them snap | flippy floppy @annikarainbow 00 Replying Keally22 Lmao red robin is worst. One time had woman complain her salad cold also had one customer tell they were "allergic ice brought them iced water and then they dumped water on floor
