From BPerry2:

I was able to build this lamp for under $20 (US) The books cost $6, The Switch and fixture cost $7.50, and a few misc. items that was another $4.

Another successful book lamp from a dedicated user! That particular light bulb looks brilliant, a great addition to the build. If you missed the first one, here's what user Richard C made last week. Well done guys, let's keep them coming!

Last week I issued a challenge to design a book lamp like boutique ones made by Typewriter Boneyard but for a fraction of the cost. Lo and behold, user Richard made a beauty. Using three used books and light fitting parts found at a DIY store, he built this model with two hours of spare time and less than £15. A tip of the hat to you sir for putting together such an impressive (and functioning) model.

Zapata Racing just released the Flyboard, a water-powered jet pack available to the public. The Flyboard gets it propulsion from a jet ski idling nearby; its hose forces water to shoot out of the user's feet. Not as cool as a the real deal the public is waiting on, but I guess this is a happy medium for now.
