Redditor GatorMacheteJr loves Fallout more than you do.  Don't feel threatened, dude loves Fallout more than any of us.  This brave vault dweller collected a grand total of 2,240 bottle caps (around 11 lbs) over the last seven and a half years, and then had the stones to send those to Bethesda as payment for a Fallout 4 pre-order.

His gamble (and very expensive shipping bill) paid off, because he's receiving a copy of the game.  According to an email he got from Bethesda, since he was the first person to try this method of payment, they'd honor it (read: don't get any ideas, rest of the internet!).  Well done, sir!

The Utah-based company plans to use VR headsets, body monitors, and high-quality prosthetics to create digital interactive worlds. It's obviously still in its infancy, but if they pull it off nerds around the country will line up to make their Skyrim dreams a reality.

And at the very least, it can't be any worse than Dactyl Nightmare:

For those of you that weren't alive in the early 90s, Dactyl Nightmare was an early lesson in crushing disappointment wherein you strapped yourself to a massive VR rig and shot things with your crossbow. Chances are it was a stealth project to make kids never excited about the future or technology ever again.
