Baller of the Day: Watch the Pope Spin a Basketball on His Finger

Pope Francis is now officially a baller.

The Harlem Globetrotters paid a visit to the Vatican on Wednesday, and they performed a few tricks with the pope during his weekly meet-and-greet with the public.

At one point he tried to spin a basketball on his finger, but it didn’t stay up for very long. And the second attempt was even worse.

But he appeared to enjoy the whole experience nonetheless.

The team also gave him a jersey with his name and the number 90 on it (because the Globetrotters are 90 years old), and they said that he could play with them as an honorary member.

Pope John Paul II was also made an honorary Golbetrotter back in 2000.

The Globetrotters posted some more images of their meeting with Francis on Twitter.

A Florida woman was being held hostage in her home by her boyfriend on Tuesday, and a Pizza Hut helped save her life.

Cheryl Treadway and her kids were being threatened by a man named Ethan Nickerson at knifepoint and were not allowed to leave.

Nickerson also took away her cell phone, but he let her use it briefly to order a pizza, according toMyFox Tampa.

That’s when she used some quick thinking to write “911 hostage help” in the comments section of her order.

A chef at the Pizza Hut noticed the strange message and the restaurant quickly alerted the police.

The suspect was then arrested and charged, while Treadway and her kids escaped to safety.

This story is very similar to another real-life incident which was used in a Superbowl ad this year to raise awareness about domestic violence.

When an Illinois couple had their wedding announcement printed in a local paper, the fast food giant was quick to hop on social media and find the real couple in question:

A half-dozen puns about the "whopper" of an event later, Burger King tracked down the couple and offered to pay for the entire wedding and provide gifts! You can see their ecstatic reaction from their interview here:
