Simon Beck has spent the past decade tracing beautiful patterns into snow-covered mountains and lakes using nothing but snowshoes and some basic math knowledge.
The British cartographer/artist started incorporating fractal patterns into his work after reading "Chaos: Making a New Science," a 1987 book written by former New York Times reporter James Gleick, Discovery News reported.
"When I did my first drawing, I had no idea how good it was going to look," Beck told CNN. "It's just so unusual and unique. No one else is doing anything like it."
Aaron Purmort discovered he had a terminal brain tumor soon after he met his wife, Nora McInerny. Since the diagnosis, they have been sharing details of their struggle with the world through their blog myhusbandstumor.com.
And before he died, the couple decided to co-write his humorous and touching obituary, which was published over the weekend in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.
Purmort, Aaron Joseph age 35, died peacefully at home on November 25 after complications from a radioactive spider bite that led to years of crime-fighting and a years long battle with a nefarious criminal named Cancer, who has plagued our society for far too long.
"I've never laughed and cried more in one sitting, but I'm so glad we got to do this," Nora wrote on the blog.
The end of the obit also states that he is survived by his "first wife Gwen Stefani," which Nora tweeted about following his death.
The family set up a crowdfunding page to raise money for medical costs and to help support his wife and child.
You may not know it yet, but Jake Murray is your hero.
In this glorious '80s-style movie montage, 27-year-old Murray demonstrates his skateboarding skills, dancing skills, climbing skills and jumping skills, all while wearing a pair of fashionable, white skinny jeans.
So how do we make sure this guy gets on the show? Let's make it happen!
