Fox News Hits a New Low, Asks Why a Muslim Scholar Would Want to Write a Book About Jesus

- -

This is Reza Aslan, a scholar of religion and religious history. As a part of his promotional tour for his new work, Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth, Aslan appeared on Fox to be interviewed by anchor Lauren Green. In maybe the most cringe-worthy piece of conversation ever recorded on the network, Green can't seem to get past the idea that a Muslim scholar would want to write a book about Jesus - who as you may know is something of a standout historical/religious figure across many nations and creeds. But hey, what do I know, I slept through history class.

Rescue Operation of the Day: Woman Uses Pizza Hut Delivery Order to Escape Hostage Situation

- -

A Florida woman was being held hostage in her home by her boyfriend on Tuesday, and a Pizza Hut helped save her life.

Cheryl Treadway and her kids were being threatened by a man named Ethan Nickerson at knifepoint and were not allowed to leave.

Nickerson also took away her cell phone, but he let her use it briefly to order a pizza, according toMyFox Tampa.

That’s when she used some quick thinking to write “911 hostage help” in the comments section of her order.

A chef at the Pizza Hut noticed the strange message and the restaurant quickly alerted the police.

The suspect was then arrested and charged, while Treadway and her kids escaped to safety.

This story is very similar to another real-life incident which was used in a Superbowl ad this year to raise awareness about domestic violence.

Here it is, straight from Parker, Colorado. The idea for the photoshoot was apparently encouraged by parents and adults nearby, if that makes things better/worse in your mind. Though it wasn't condoned by everyone involved. One of the moms not present to her child's photo being taken had this to say:

"I think in their immaturity they kind of think it's a sort of a cowboy type of thing but then to have parents that support it and feed into it and to explain that it borders on racism is really upsetting to me,"
